Ever feel like there aren’t enough hours in a day? Or that your workplace is changing faster than you can blink?
Its 2017, the year may have already kicked in at a great speed, but there’s still time to get going when facing uncertainty.
In a time of ambiguity, in a world of the unpredictability of your job (retrenchment), if you’re looking to secure your place, there are a few key strategic priorities for you:
Work with great people: Working together and working in a great team allows you to achieve your career goals. When you make yourself a resource for others when they’re stuck, you need to ensure that you are ready to take charge at any point of the day. You can use your influence to be the person that your colleagues go to when they’re in a crisis. When you care about others, you become their upliftment and go-to when they are in a crisis.
Take advantage of your environment for productivity: Know how to self-direct yourself so that you can drive the right results. By being able to improve yourself and your environment, you can be decisive in your productivity.
Know where you are going: Decide, either you love it or you hate it. Quit or be extraordinary. Mediocrity is not something you want to be known for. Devise a clear, strategic vision for both you and your future. Know what you want and work towards it constantly, it which case it may be your next career, job title or salary increase.
Shift your ways and disrupt the traditional: By being future orientated, you will be able to disrupt the norm and bring in what hasn’t been thought of. To make it in whatever industry you’re in, you need to open yourself up to opportunities. Stretch your mind beyond your capabilities, and take what you’re good at and make it even better!
Make 2017 the start to a year that grows you, makes you stronger, and by planning ahead, you’ll be able to focus on what you want and achieve it!
