
Facebook is one of the best ways to find out more about people (aka Facebook stalking). It’s not so fun though when you’re not the one doing the stalking… And it’s something that companies also do when contemplating hiring you.
Facebook is a social media platform that tells anyone anything you upload onto Facebook about you. Yep, you will be surprised at just how much you are sharing with the internet.
So how do you ensure your Facebook profile is safe and as private as you would like it to be?
Limit who can see your posts: You don’t want complete strangers seeing your new-born or your work-in-progress bikini body! So when posting, you have the option of selecting who can see your post:

Make your profile harder to find: You may think that everyone is accessible on Facebook – those who don’t know how Facebook privacy setting work – will. But if you don’t want Google or any other search engine to bring your profile up this is how you change it:
- Go to settings
- Select Privacy on the left hand side
- Then make sure you select ‘No’ where it says: Do you want search engines outside of Facebook to link to your profile?
