For most of us, the holidays literally flew by, the New Year just hit us, and we’re back at work… If you’re not feeling a little sad that it’s all over, then kudos to you! For the rest of us, at times getting up for work is a bit of a struggle. But did you ever think that sometimes the thing you oppose is actually the thing you need the most. Who’d have thought?
So unless you win the lotto, or have an exorbitant inheritance… We suggest you whip your attitude into positive action and let that brain of yours absorb every reason why your 9 to 5er is actually good for you:
You get plenty of sleep: Most of us need an absolute minimum of 8 hours shut-eye in order to function. By working plus/minus 8 hours, you are able to relax in the evening and wake up refreshed in the morning.
You get to make the most of the early hours: Being a morning person pays off, but if you’re more of a night owl, you may want to reconsider and instead start your day off by sipping on coffee and watching the sun rise.
You get to eat on a regular schedule: Whether you like to tell yourself this or not, you can’t survive on coffee. We all get a little hectic and accidently skip meals. By working a 9 to 5 job, you have the opportunity to make time to eat. By taking lunch at a standard time, it’s almost impossible to forget to eat because your workday is synced with meal times. Plus, by planning meals, you get to stick to a budget… The grocery struggle is real.
You have time for friends and family: You may not be one of those trending wannabe gypsy/hippies, but the cookie-cutter lifestyle has some nice perks… Most people work similar hours, so keeping in touch and getting together for dinner or drinks frequently happens, making it a convenient way to wind down and catchup!
Working eight hours a day also means that you get to make the most of your free time, save money, skip the risk of unfortunate events and listen to good music while sitting in traffic.
