Sing hallelujah! 2017 has arrived and it feels so good!
The year is fresh, the sun is shining and you’ve just come back from holiday, yet now getting back into a routine can be somewhat challenging and so what do you do? Commit to a New Year’s resolution!
Yes, this will be the year you actually stick to it… 2017 is different, right? Wrong. Only 8% of people actually stick to New Year’s resolutions… Scary right? Ever wondered what everyone else has committed to?
These are the Top Five New Year’s Resolutions trending in the world:
Improve your health and fitness: Regular exercise and clean food have more health benefits than any vitamins you could possibly throw down your throat. Why not take a different approach this year and exercise to release stress and anxiety? By filling your mind with those yummy endorphins.
Quit smoking or drinking, or both: If this is the year to kick out those black lungs or stinking scent, you don’t have to do it alone or go cold turkey and feel like you are punishing yourself. If you’ve tried and failed, try again! There are plenty of resources to help you.
Learn something new: Keen to start something new? Instead of talking about it, just do it! With a range of courses available online, it is as easy as ever to become certified in a range of courses.
Volunteer: Helping those in need (animals too) is a great and selfless New Year’s Resolution. Whether you’d like to go overseas to volunteer, help disadvantaged children or work at an animal shelter, there are plenty of organisations that can make it happen for your schedule.
Meet someone: Single? Make 2017 the year that you embrace these days and make an effort to meet new people… If you’re not the extroverted type or are not keen to be out all the time, why not try an online option?
Why not save a little more while you’re on a roll to an even better 2017? A lot of people don’t check up on their car insurance premiums. Most insurance companies claim to lower premiums from month to month, so this month why not put it on your to-do list and research over spending on grudge purchase insurance?
Whatever you decide your resolution is, take it in baby steps, don’t put too much pressure on yourself and just keep on trying. Who knows? Maybe you’ll become one of those 8% that actually follow through?
